We started the year horribly. Various parts of the world had wild land fires that were hard to control specially in Australia.
What causes them?
Mostly is caused by human activities, for example, when you don't put out a campfire or when you drop a lit cigarette. Others are caused naturally like by lighting, sparks from falling rock, heat waves or combustion of dry fuel such as sawdust and leaves.
But...Have you heard or fatwood?
Fatwood is the resinous remains of a pine tree that has died of natural causes. When a pine tree dies, either upright or fallen, the sap settles into the heartwood of the branches and trunk. As the tree rots the sap hardens into resin soaked wood, this is the fatwood, and is extremely easy to light. Imagine if a drop lit cigarette or a tree hit by lighting start a small fire and that one reaches a dead pine tree full of fatwood. We'll make It easy and tell you. WILDFIRE that happens.
This could led to the destruction and death of wildlife, human beings, loss of homes, etc.
So, basically, what we do is take all of that fatwood out without damaging any living trees, take it to our warehouse were our workers which are local people from the town which includes single moms, indigenous people and persons with disability, cut it, put it in boxes and sends them away to our clients.
